Jim Negri

Superintendent, Castro Valley Unified School District

During his thirty-nine years as an educator in both public and private schools, Jim has consistently viewed his role as “educating the next generation in a democratic society” – a changing society that challenges schools to be relevant in today’s world. As superintendent of the Castro Valley Unified School District, Jim is a strong student advocate and recognizes the critical importance of all students developing 21st century skills so that they will excel and contribute in a global society. As a trained strategic planner, he understands the critical need for schools to successfully confront both current and future opportunities and challenges. Jim works with the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) training new superintendents.
