As Executive Director of the Broadcom Foundation and Director of Broadcom Corporation Community Affairs, Paula Golden directs funding for education and research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). She also oversees the volunteer activities of 12,000 employees at Broadcom, a global Fortune 500 company and leading innovator in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications.
Paula earned her undergraduate degree in English and Education from Wellesley College and was Assistant Dean and Instructor of Law at New England School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude. She helped transition a major state agency to online services as Chief Counsel and Deputy Registrar of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (DMV) where she was also a member of the Governor’s High Technology Council. Paula has also served as Executive Director of the Engineering Center and Engineering Center Education Trust, Director of Development for UCLA Neurosciences and Vice President of the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation. At Broadcom Foundation, Paula has developed the Broadcom MASTERS®, national and international middle school science and engineering competitions that inspire young people to stay engaged in math and science through high school to become scientists, engineers and innovators of the future. She oversees university research gifts and most recently developed the Broadcom Foundation University Research Competition that rewards innovation in electrical engineering and computer science among top post-graduates selected from forty renowned universities worldwide.
